Civitatis
We will meet at 11:00 am at the Guadalest Tourist Office, the starting point of our fascinating free tour of this charming village in Alicante with Muslim roots.
We will begin our visit admiring the greatest attraction of the municipality: the majestic castle of San José. While enjoying the panoramic views from its main tower, we will unravel the captivating stories, battles and legends that this 11th century fortress treasures.
Then, we will head to the historic center of Guadalest. Navigating the narrow streets of this picturesque Levantine village, home to just over 200 inhabitants, we will explore its medieval design and its most emblematic monuments. The Church of the Assumption, the Arrabal and the remains of the wall of Guadalest have contributed to give it the title of Historic-Artistic Site.
In addition, during this free tour of Guadalest we will pass by some of the most curious museums, such as the Museum of Salt and Pepper Shakers, the Microgiant Museum, the Museum of Microminiatures and the Casa Orduña. Did you know that this town has the highest number of museums per capita in Spain?
To finish in the best possible way, we will be delighted with the breathtaking views of the Guadalest reservoir and the majestic mountains of Aitana and Serrella, a picture postcard worthy! We will conclude our tour at 13:00 hours at the original starting point.
